I’m Not Here to Entertain Your Kids — I’m Here to Change Their Lives

Let’s clear something up:

I don’t show up to class with a tap-dancing routine.
But I am performing — every single day.

Because teaching, when it’s done right, is engagement.
It’s conversation.
It’s connection.
It’s Thanksgiving dinner — except instead of mashed potatoes, we’ve got pencils and paper.
And instead of arguing politics, we’re discovering how math explains everything around us.

🎭 Engagement > Entertainment

Here’s the truth:
If you’re not engaging, you’re losing.
You don’t need to be a stand-up comic — but you do need to keep their attention.

That doesn’t mean silly games or TikTok tricks.
It means presence. Eye contact. Curiosity. Authenticity.

The average student today has the attention span of a cracked iPhone battery — and it’s our job to win their focus long enough to teach them something that lasts.

If I had to pick a sub, I’d take a stand-up comic over a physicist any day.
Why?
Because math without connection is noise.
Math with engagement is power.

🧠 Piaget Knew It Too

Jean Piaget, the great developmental psychologist, wrote that real learning happens through interaction — not just passive observation.
And Erikson? He taught us that identity forms through challenge and response.

So if we’re teaching kids how to think, how to wrestle with logic and abstraction, then we better be right there with them — laughing, struggling, making it human.

Because math is human.

🪞But What If I’m Not “That Guy”?

You don’t have to be me.

You don’t need to crack jokes or pace around the room with wild energy.
You just need to be yourself — the version of yourself that shows up like you’re at dinner with people you care about.

Would you ignore your family at Thanksgiving?
Or would you engage, talk, listen, and share ideas?

Teaching is no different.

If you’re not naturally outgoing — that’s fine.
But you do need to be fully present.
And the best way to get there is to know your stuff so well that you can focus on the people, not the paper.

🎯 That’s Why the Infinity Curriculum Was Built Differently

Here’s how we support real, engaged teaching:

  • ✅ Every lesson has multiple plans — kinesthetic, lecture-based, and even substitute scripts
  • ✅ There’s a teacher video warm-up for every topic so you’re never caught off guard
  • ✅ You get flexibility without gaps — structure where you need it, freedom where you want it

Some days you’re fired up.
Other days, you’re handing the sub a script and taking a well-earned mental health day.
No judgment — just support.

Because real teaching isn’t rigid.
It’s adaptive.
It’s responsive.
It’s alive.

🧑‍🏫 You’re Not a Clown. You’re a Leader.

Stop asking whether you’re being “fun enough.”
Start asking: Are they engaged? Are they learning?

Don’t chase trends. Don’t play to the back row.

Show up.
Be human.
Teach like it matters.
